WILPF KEEP SPACE FOR PEACE WEEK RESOURCES

Ready to use fact sheet from Boston WILPF: Space - A Global Commons to Benefit All - NOT the U.S. Domain for Pre-Emptive Wars & Domination.

Download and read the strong WILPF resolution on WILPF policy and practical plans in support of existing space treaties and a new treaty or protocol banning weapons and war in space. This was approved at the London International Executive Meeting on September 12, and also calls on all Sections and Branches to participate in Keep Space for Peace Week.

Download and print the two sided primer on the space treaty process in flier form (a word document). This is a quick summary of Keep Space for Peace Week, the UN treaties on outer space, current negotiations, UN World Space Week, and the NGO promoting that week which is currently supported by aerospace corporations profiting from space militarization.

Promote and support H R 2420, a bill to ban weapons in space that also calls for a UN Treaty instituting a global ban. Introduced by Representative Dennis Kucinich. ALERT! WILPF post card of the month supports H R 2420! Click for Bill information, talking points, and even a short model letter available on this WILPF web page. During October write and collect WILPF postcards to deliver to local Congressional offices or send to Philadelphia for delivery to D.C. offices in early November.

Promote and support H Res 373, the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Commitment Act which also calls for a ban on weapons in space and an end to the so called missile defense. Introduced by Representative Lynn Woolsey. Click here for details to help your letter writing, phone call of Congressional visit. DISARM has been promoting this key legislation for the entire 109th Congress, and helped get the Resolution introduced. It is a great educational piece outlining what is essentially WILPF policy, as well as that of Representative Woolsey.

Download the flyer for the October 7 demonstration at Vandenberg Air Force Base, co-sponsored by WILPF and Global Network. Link to information on events and program at the Vandenberg gate.

Order a copy of the DVD A Space for Peace about the Pentagon revival of the old Star Wars program and growing citizen non-violent resistance. This was produced by DISARM Leadership Team member MacGregor Eddy, filmed by Daniel Reilly, and sponsored by WILPF and Global Network.

Contact MacGregor Eddy for a CD copy of the power point on the U.S. space program and citizen resistance to full spectrum domination. Adapt it to include your own resistance actions, or to focus on you local Star Wars profiteering corporation.

Mil-Corp Manual includes the aerospace war profiteers. Branches have received a complimentary copy of the DISARM Mil-Corp manual 2005 edition.. Section VI, pages 117-18, lists major missile defense contractors. You can investigate, dialogue with, vigil or plan an action at one of these plants near you. The Dirty Dozen in Section IV has fact sheets on Raytheon, Alliant, Lockheed, Boeing, TRW (now part of Northrup Grumman) and General Dynamics, all of which are war profiteers in the space industry as well as nuclear weapons. These need updating but are still useful. Access the links in HTML versions of the same documents.

And be sure to check the information on World Space Week, and the UN and NGO agencies to which we will be reporting our events this year. Space must be utilized to benefit all humankind, and must not be left to the Pentagon and war profiteering aerospace corporations promoting full spectrum dominance and space as the warfighters edge.

And to remind yourself of the souless nature of the Pentagon's plans for space domination download Vision 2020, the classic 1998 Space Command presentation of the vision that now determines U.S. military/foreign policy. And if you haven't encountered it yet, also download the American Century Report on Rebuilding America's Defenses, in which, before the 2000 elections, the neo-cons outlined these same aggressive policies in chilling detail. Note some of the project participants on page 90: Paul Wolfowitz, I. Lewis Libby, Donald, Robert and Fred Kagan, William Kristol and Barry Watts of Northrup Grumman.
